In the Beginning:
Trent was born and raised on the southeast side of the Chi (Chicago). As an only child, his mother would buy him VHS tapes to keep him busy and out of trouble. Trent was always intrigued by the types of adventures the actors on his movies would go on, they made him forget about reality and want to step into their shoes and view life from their perspective. The more movies he watched the more he knew that he wanted to grow up to be a storyteller just like them. The movie that ultimately made Trent want to be an actor was James Cameron’s 1997 blockbuster film Titanic.
Training
Trent studied numerous amounts of theatre and film at Ohio Wesleyan University (OWU). He learned everything from the different methods of acting (Stanislavski, Chekhov), to the steps of preparing and putting on a full length stage performance. He has been an ensemble member, dancer, and singer in several school productions like “Red, Hot, & Cole!” and “Enemy of the People”. In 2018, he played his first lead stage role in James Baldwin’s “Blues for Mister Charlie”. In 2019, he publicly released two mini- webseries projects that he co- produced on YouTube. He is currently doing freelance work and creating more art.
Art Is Life
In May 2017, Trent achieved his bachelor’s degree in theatre with a minor in film at OWU. In 2019, his directorial debut “Tie” was featured in the 2019 Woman of African Descent Film Festival. In addition, his 2019 co-produced projects “Shades of Green: The Series” and “The Agency: Web-series” have been included in film festivals as well. When he is not “creating”, he is usually either working, recharging, networking, or supporting someone in his community.
His favorite quote that he lives by daily:
“If you fail to plan, then you plan to fail” - Unknown
